How close are the national parks and the Keys?

You're about 20 minutes from the Everglades' main entrance and roughly 30 minutes from Biscayne National Park's visitor center at Convoy Point. Key Largo and the start of the Florida Keys are about 40 minutes south on US-1, and downtown Miami is around 45 minutes north up the Turnpike.

Is this a good base for a wedding or group weekend?

Very much so. The two villas sit side by side, so a wedding party or group can take both and stay together — and you're about 15 minutes from Schnebly Redland's Winery and the Redland's other garden and farm venues. An easy, relaxed basecamp for the whole weekend.
